World Vitiligo Day 2021 was observed on the 25th June 2021 in the Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy, Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College, Kolar, with the theme ” Debunking Vitiligo Myths”. Patients with Vitiligo and their attendees were invited to the program. The occasion was graced by Dr. Rache Gowda, Deputy Medical Superintendent of RLJH. The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Madhu Kiran C, Junior Resident, Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy, who welcomed the dignitaries, faculty, students, patients, and their attendees to the event. This was followed by a speech by Dr. Hanumanthayya K., Professor of Dermatology on his experience with treating and counseling vitiligo patients and their attenders following which Dr. Rache Gowda, addressed the gathering regarding myths associated with vitiligo. Educational pamphlets were distributed by Dr. Rache Gowda and Dr. Rajashekar T. S Head of Department of Dermatology, to the patients and their attendees to raise awareness about vitiligo, and the program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Madhu Kiran C.
