The new Central Diagnostic Laboratory Services is situated in the first floor of the new CARE building attached to R.L Jalappa Hospital & research center has a floor area of 7300 sq ft. and common collection center and report dispatch counter are situated on the ground floor of OPD block. From April 2018 we got NABL accreditation for CDLS. NABL Reassessment was done in February 2020 and the Accreditation valid up to April 2022. Recently in June 2020 NABL accreditation given for Molecular virology for SARS -2 and H1N1 viruses testing by RT PCR method.
The RL Jalappa hospital earlier had three separate laboratories namely viz. Pathology, Biochemistry, and Microbiology involved in diagnostic, research, teaching and training the students of Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College. Later in the year 2006, the concept of Central laboratory came into existence. Central Diagnostic laboratory services (CDLS) was established in 2016 in Excellence Care building with all three departments under common platform. Further, many newer tests were added in the services with improvement in the analytical process with high end equipment and considerably reduced Turnaround Time.
