Integrative medicine is embedded in the definition of health. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as “a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”. Integrative medicine is a combination of mainstream (conventional) of medicine with complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), for which there is a high quality scientific evidences of safety and effectiveness.
Department of Integrative Medicine was established in the year 2014. Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research, Kolar is the first University to introduce Yoga in the medical and nursing curriculum.

All the health care services are provided under one roof. Hospital is in a serene atmosphere of Sri Devaraj Urs Medical college campus having lush green cover and away from the urban area.

Mr. Karan (Name changed) 20 year male engineer student, visited Ayush Clinic along with parents with the complaints of anxiety and depression since last 6 months managing with medication.
After complete evaluations, a tailor-made yoga therapy has been given to him for one month daily along with counselling.
At the end of one month his symptoms were decreased drastically. He could able to sleep without any medication and started working.
Mrs. Kavitha (Name changed) 45 years female housewife, visited Ayush clinic with a complaint of migraine headache since 5 years.
After evaluation, she has been given a tailor-made yoga therapy along with herbal medication. She was taught Yoga therapy for two weeks along with counselling.
At the end of two weeks her symptoms were reduced drastically, she could able to perform her daily routine.
Mrs. Vani (Name changed) 35 years nurse in a multispecialty hospital resident of Kolar visited Ayush clinic, with the complaint of severe low back pain since one month, unable to perform her duty.
She has been given the Yoga module for low back pain along with herbal oil for application. She was regularly attending the yoga classes for a month. At the end of one month her quality of life improved and she started working again.
