Patient Rights
  • Right of access to medical care irrespective of case, creed, religion and economic status.
  • Right to expect care as per special spiritual, religious and cultural needs.
  • Right to be treated with respect and dignity
  • Right to have privacy and confidentiality of information and its disclosure to the family member if desired by the patient.
  • Right of all confidential information in case of minor shall be provided to one of the parents/legal guardian.
  • Right to have personal safety and protection from physical abuse and neglect.
  • Right to know the identity and professional status of the care givers.
  • Right to know expected cost of treatment, packages if any concessions if any, changes in cost estimate if any.
  • Right to have information about diagnosis, treatment, care plan progress and health care needs.
  • Right to know about dietary requirements and nutrition.
  • Right to have informed consent before any invasive procedure, surgery research trial and blood transfusion.
  • Right to know about safety, dosage and potential side effects of medications.
  • Right of participation in decision making, free access to second opinion on demand and right to refuse treatment after understanding available option and risks.
  • Right to access copies of the entire clinical record after paying appropriate fees for photocopying.
  • Right to have information on how to file a complaint anonymously or with name with appropriate hospital authorities.
Patient Responsibilities
  • To be completely honest in providing past history of illnesses, personal habits, present problems and family history.
  • To provide information about allergies, problems during previous medical treatment, outside opinions and outside medical records if any.
  • Patients should respect parking rules, visitors timings, hospital rules, dignity of hospital staff and other patients.
  • Patient should participate in decision making, regular communication with doctors and make an honest attempt to complete entire treatment plan.
  • To refrain from violent behaviour towards hospital staff, hospital property and other patients.
  • Patient should provide accurate demographic information, Ex: full name, age, address etc. Medical insurance related information should be provided from time to time.
